Do you like heart pounding horror? Then you MIGHT like this.
It was late afternoon, I had nothing better to do than to get on Feralheart. But before I do that, I head on over to the forums, as I usually do before playing, in case someone replied to one of my posts or a thread catches my attention. I play a few of the forum games and reply to messages, as usual. Soon I'm off to my desktop and double click the FH icon. When it starts up I see the title screen and such, log in, and Thyme is standing in her spot on the flat rock. I sigh and hit start, I pop up in Fluorite Plains, where I left off last time, but of course it's lag city. I quickly Go Home to Sky's Rim and all is peaceful. I looked around to see if I recognize anyone here and I don't, just the usual wolves and some dragons. In a corner is a pure black, skinny, medium sized wolf called Shadow. Wow, could you have found a better name? His eyes were ice white rings and he had on a default expression. He's staring at me, but maybe he wasn't, maybe his head was just facing forward. I shrug it off and head over to Ascension Island, falling through the rocks and challenging myself not to land on any of them. As I fly through I see Shadow again, huh, maybe he's one of those weird trolls that follow you until you say something, after all he was just sitting on one of the floating rocks there, staring forward again. I look up at it and see his head, staring down at me with those two white dots for eyes. I grunt and go into Lonely Cave, thinking of where to go for today. Somewhere I haven't been in a while....Ha! Last Cave! I turn Thymes' head to the direction then hear the pawsteps of a character walking, I blink. I didn't hold Shift and W...maybe it was a glitch and I accidentally locked it or something. Whatever it was, it was fixed because I ran to South Pole, my eyes catching a small speck of black around the cave wall before it went to the loading screen. I shake it off again and head to the back of the map, to Atlantis I go! I jump and dash up the snowy hills and as I reach the peak of one hill I find Shadow again. I stop in my tracks and walk up to him, put a glare on Thyme and look down at him.
Thyme: What do you want? You keep following me around.
Shadow:
Thyme: Well whatever. Bai then.
So I run off again, finding the portal and jumping into it like a happy little bunny. But the Shadow ordeal still caught me as a strange sight...Eh, it was nothing I bet. Diving down to the sea floor I head to Last Cave, easy to find once you've been here enough. As I'm passing by a pillar underwater I see the wolf again, but he's sitting. A glitch probably. But I wish I had paid more attention to this wolf...
In Last Cave I see him. He's right in front of me, just staring, no one else is in here but us two. I stare at the chat box anxiously, waiting to see if he types anything. After a few minutes I quickly type:
Thyme: Alright mister, you're freaking me out. What is it you want?
Shadow:
Thyme: I know you can type. This game is made for typing.
Shadow:
He didn't respond, it felt like I was talking to a statue. I shook my head and moved Thyme, starting to walk off.
Thyme: Whatever...
Shadow: Bites neck. Kills.
I blink. This guy can actually communicate? Wow. I gave a small chuckle but gasped at what I saw when I looked up, Thyme was laying on her side, the dead emotion on. I didn't do that...I see the wolf, a crazed grin on his face as he walks past her body and suddenly my camera is at f3 mode. It moves, facing the wolf but from a bit of a angle, looking down on him. His head looks up, facing directly at me.
Shadow: FeralHeart.exe has stopped working.
And it did. The screen turned white and the pop up came 'FeralHeart.exe has stopped working.' I click the exit button and set my laptop aside, getting up I start to pace, thinking about what just happened.
After about ten minutes or so I get back on. Thyme as usual, nothing looked different. I pop up in Fluorite Plains again, at the stone bridge. But there is no sound or music. I looked around, what I saw next I will never forget.
Dead bodies...everywhere. None of the characters were standing, all of them were laying on their sides, with the dead emotion on, some with their tongues out. I gave a gasp of horror and heard a ringing coming from the game, like the kind you get when your ears pop, but it only sounded when I got near one of the corpses. I ran. I ran off to the + sign way in the far edges of the map, there was no one there thankfully. I sat down and tried to think of what may have went wrong, if this was a glitch or not. Then the pawsteps of someone walking again...I look up and spin my camera in all directions trying to find this person. Will they know what is happening? Can they help me? Suddenly my camera is in f3 mode again and jerks to the right, and I see him, Shadow. Just his face with that crazed grin and those white ringed eyes. He seems to be mouthing something but it never appears in the chat box, my game crashes.
This time I wait a whole DAY to get back on FH. Something is off with it too...when the title screen appears, the watermill map is gone and the background is endless blackness. But the music is back. I log on, same thing, blackness, it says I'm in Fluorite Plains, and the music stops. There is no ringing, nothing to look at, and no where to go. I hear them again, the pawsteps, then I look up and see the wolf. He blends in with the darkness, the only thing being seen are his eyes, but they aren't looking at me and they look sad. Sudden the lights flick on and the map is shown, at the stone bridge again. The dead animals are back but this time they are ALL Shadow. Some of them have their heads snapped back but none have the dead emotion on, instead it is a sad expression. I see that she Shadow sitting in front of me has his neck snapped as well. His head is looking up at the sky and twisted all the way to the left.
Shadow: Kills Shadow.
A loud pop, the neck breaking, and a fall to the floor. He laid there with the others and I notice Thyme has her head twisted at the same awkward angle. But she is looking dead at me.
Thyme: FeralHeart.exe has stopped working.
She does the same procedure as the wolf and dies, the screen goes black and the FH crashes, then my laptop dies. I give a horrific whimper and leave the machine, never wanting to get back on it.
But maybe that was a bad idea...
Later on that day, as I was just laying in my bed and closing my eyes, I felt a cool breath against my ear. "FeralHeart.exe has stopped working..." My eyes shoot open and they are ice white rings.
