^ Agreeing with Tangled on this one.

The Free-For-All Roleplay section has been recently bombarded with several roleplays that can be easily transferred over to the Off-Topic Roleplay section due to the categorizing system already present in Off-Topic (Human, Animal, Misc). However, there more of an extent to the issue as well, Free-For-All seems to be Off-Topic but with a much more longer name.

At first, the Free-For-All area is located in the General Roleplay, which implies to most (or at least, me) would be initially Feral Heart related that would directly involve characters from the game, videos, or something of the sort. As already, there is a section for advertising for the game and another for groups in the game, it seems likely that FFA.. Right?

Quote from: Red
"As a user joining an Open Roleplay, please keep in mind you are joining someone elses hosted rp under their roleplay rules."

Quote from: Red
"For roleplays that require tougher requirements to join we'd advice this to the "Groups" board instead, these roleplays are meant to be easy to join up and start for everyone."

The excerpts above explain what and how the Free-For-All roleplays are for. There is no mentioning of the Feral Heart game, so, essentially, this is just Off-Topic but less organized and with a longer name and in a different area.

When I was thinking of starting up a roleplay I was confused as to which section it would go in. I don't think the General roleplay section is very clear...at least not for me anyway xD I had to ask Lord Suragaha what the differences were between the General roleplay section and the Off-topic roleplay section.
This is what she replied with:

It's really up to you where you decide to place a rp but in general a FH related rp would be a rp that would require people to meet in game to rp. Example like:

A lion rp that is hosted in Flourite Plains or a custom map etc.

An off topic rp would be a rp that doesn't have much to do with FH like a robot rp or a wolf rp that isn't fh related etc. Off Topic rps usually aren't in game but rather they are hosted just here on the forum or on a wetpaint site etc. I hope that makes it a little more clear.
It made more sense after that.

It is a shame that the off-topic section is dying due to the mass of people placing obviously off-topic related roleplays in the free for all section. More confusion is probably going to come about due to everyone just posting there.

That's what I assumed like what LordSuragaha said. It seemed to me that anything FH related belonged in general. Which was why there was a section. But the free for all still less specified. As Soar quoted from Red, it doesn't look like it explains the FH istelf and does seem to categorize it like off-topic. But still, it should be changed somehow to make the thread a little more organized.

We did discuss that a bit when we were first dealing with the whole Offtopic Roleplay section update but if you guys are noticing a problem again we can always look into it again and try to sort things out a bit. Thanks for the heads up. As for the offtopic role-plays in the Free for All section... Hmm I mean as I told Flobster Free for All Roleplays were meant to be FH related, but the problem with that is that some users are rping as Hetalians in game in FH for example and if they decided to start a thread here advertising that rp to get people in game what section would it really fit best in? It's an in game rp so it's FH related but it's offtopic. If we moved that to the Offtopic Section then you'd have less people looking there since most think the Offtopic section is anything non feline/canine related and often out of game (although there are Offtopic feline canine rps too).

The best way I can explain it is by saying that the Offtopic RP section relates to any kind of rp that isn't hosted in game or related to FH in any way while.

The Free for All section's rps on the other hands are either forum exclusive but relating to FH or in game and relating to FH. If the rp in the Free for All section is forum exclusive (not an in game rp) then it must have a topic about fh felines & or canines, if it doesn't then it counts as an Offtopic rp since it would have no relation to FH if it isn't in game either. Hope that makes a little more sense... sort of xD

We understand your point fully.

The "Free for all" was really aimed to be for those alone roleplayers without a group to join instant roleplay action on the forums instead of the game, however it does not click together that well now as it might seemed to do back when it was made.

There's indeed an issue where we cannot truly know who's FH game related and those who aren't.  Me and WhiteLightHeart spoke over this thread just as we saw it and we believe that even without the Free for all section the rest of the roleplay board would get along fine, and the offtopic roleplay board would be used properly again, since it has after all, lost it's purpose as time has gone by. Now people would still be able to host roleplays for their groups, and advertise their groups in the advertise board. Now it might be arguable that this would make it harder for users to find instant action and if you are alone without a group you'd need to find one. But by the looks of it, the majority of the threads in free for all already have "group like" rules, or just not indicating anything for it to be related to FH. By removing the board users would be forced to organize their threads to suit in with what's needed for the boards to work properly. Because looking at it know, it's quite hard to monitor and know what's FH related and what isn't in the free for all board.  We should try sorting this out in the upcoming week and inform users in a news post regarding this change, and hopefully bring he rightful purpose of the main boards back.

Alright Red. Thank you ;3
I wish you two the best of luck figuring that out. It does seem like a tough thing to decipher but I know you guys can do it.
