FH going open source apparently?

And trust me when I say this I believe this is a terrible idea.

For those who have been on KITO or the IT servers in general you know where i will be coming from. This will end up just like that.

People will make their own versions of the game and compete to be better then one another.
People who have programs like Art money or know the tricks to hack will go into eachothrs games and destroy crap.
People will steal from eachothers game clients


I beleive the games source needs to be given to a Trusted staff member here to avoid aother Impressive Title episode. I have been playing IT since ITR and trust me I know how people are when it comes to doing literally everything to get members and to be above the other games plus it wouldnt make FH special and kinda ruin it. Everyones friends would divide up and it just wouldnt be the same.

But of course this is just my opinion. What are you alls thoughts? I would love to hear them.

IT isn't really consider anything to Feral Heart. The file source for IT has been given out with Kov approve for others to make IT servers just like his. Now I doubt that Feral Heart will become a open source in anytime soon. If anything you hear outside of the feral heart forums and this kind of stuff isn't said from a staff member or more importantly a administrator, then it's most likely a false allegation Feral Heart won't change any time soon, and the staff here is really trustworthy as well to keep such precious coding as that for leaking out. Remember IT isn't the same as Feral Heart. In ways they have the same game concept, but both are two different game programs.

Well, with the right coding (from Kov himself, that is), an open source FH is technically possible. However, there are a few things to keep in mind:

Firstly, FH's coding is much more difficult to handle than an IT server. I don't know the details myself, but not just some old Joe could make a new FH.
And second, no new FH servers have been made (nor do we see any in the near future). But even if it did, the original, real FeralHeart isn't going down anytime soon. There is a very dedicated, active, and compassionate staff running this site and game right now.
So, along with any other similar games (Aro'kai, etc.) running about, it likely wouldn't have the calliber to compete so much with a larger game like FH.

This said, it isn't exactly the FH staff's (outside of Kov, since he's been MIA for a year now) choice if it were to go open source. Any other servers would be at the discretion of an entirely different party, and the way they ran their server would be as varying as any IT-based server out there.

So, I understand where you're coming from, and I don't like the idea of an open source FH either. However, it's unlikely, and I don't think it's too much to worry about.

Even if this were true, it would be long before it would happen. There is many things such as the Movie Maker which needs to be added and then hosting the server and linking your website to game? This would be hard to do, considering you'd also need proof of being allowed to host FH. And time to learn to program? Would be too much time, money and stress.
